Vision in rehearsal, with director Jonathan Salt.

HUNTINGDON JULY 2009 REVIEW.

St. Ives Youth Theatre brought their electrifying musical – VISION -  to Huntingdon last night with a special Gala Edinburgh Preview performance, before they take the show to the Edinburgh Fringe in August.

They were honoured by the attendance of Councillor Malcom Cohen, Mayor of Godmanchester and Councillor David Hodge, Deputy Mayor of St. Ives, and especially be the presence of the Rt. Rev. Michael Evans, Bishop of East Anglia.

He thanked the cast on behalf of the audience at the end of the performance, and praised them for their superb depiction of the life Bernadette and the beginning of Lourdes.  He  said that in 4 weeks time he will be standing in the Grotto in Lourdes, and that musical captures so well the spirit of Lourdes, although the bar depicted is not quite like the bar where the Bishops retire to.

He spoke about the energy and enthusiasm of the cast and the brilliant performance of Bethan Morris as Bernadette.   He thanked the cast on behalf of the audience and wished them well on their journey to Edinburgh.  He was confident that Vision would be the best show at the Fringe and would go down a storm.
